I connect EI up with different organisations so that children can be supported to develop from where they are.
For many years I have been antagonised by the way that high stakes assessment often creates a narrowing effect on children and their future. Coming across EI following an introduction to Michael, I've been an enthusiast of connecting their low-cost, local language learning systems with people who need an approach which starts from where they are and reflects their contexts.
I have over 11 years’ experience in international education, having held a number of roles in research, strategy and partnership at Pearson and Teach First. My chief interest is how education systems can be improved to provide a variety of learning experiences for children that encourage their agency, enthusiasm and curiosity. As a result, I am interested in approaches to system reform that include new metrics; and new participatory models to address marginalisation and improve effectiveness. I have a BA from Sussex University, a Masters’ from the Institute of Education, I am Fellow of the RSA and sit on the Executive Committee of UKFIET, the education & development forum.
